Volunteer Overseas

ProClinical would like to encourage experienced candidates who want to use their training and experience to make a significant difference in the developing world to contact "Doctors of the World" with a CV and short covering letter: recruitment@doctorsoftheworld.org.uk

Doctors of the World, also known as Médecins du Monde, is an international humanitarian aid organisation that recruits medical and non-medical volunteers, providing healthcare for vulnerable populations around the world.

Doctors of the World send mainly medical volunteers on humanitarian missions (surgeons, doctors, nurses, midwifes and psychologists), people who have at least two years of experience and are available for a minimum of three months.
Field staff have their expenses paid, plus approximately £200 per month as an allowance, and £400 - £600 per month paid into their bank account at home. Non-medical positions are also available in the UK and overseas — administrators, logisticians and non-medical coordinators — to ensure that the projects run effectively.

Doctors of the World is always looking for dedicated medical and non-medical professionals to volunteer. It’s important to remember that this kind of volunteer work is the result of an individual, ideological commitment. Doctors of the World perceive your desire to volunteer as a gesture of solidarity, which has more significance than simply looking for a job.

If you’d like to get involved, send your CV with a covering letter to: recruitment@doctorsoftheworld.org.uk

Current ProClinical Projects

August 2011 - Project Uganda

In August, ProClincal financially supported a GP who has chosen to give up her career in the UK to become a volunteer working for a non-for-profit hospital in Uganda. The money will contribute towards supporting her in buying a car to reach rural areas, with the primary aim of preventing the spread of HIV amongst orphans.
